Storm 3's story mode is really, really good, to the point that it could even be a substitute for watching the anime / manga. The loss of good free roam isn't too bad though, cause the story mode more than makes up for it. Compared to the previous game, where you could cannon yourself around with shadow clones, it's not nearly as fun. It's very much "traditional RPG", meaning you sorta move your characters around on the map, and then interact with something and a battle starts. The only disappointing thing is that the free roam was downgraded a bit. It covers the story pretty thoroughly, and unlike in Storm 1 where the story mode was pretty much "mission select", you actually get to walk around the world to places like Orochimaru's hideout to start story missions. The free roam in this game is awesome though, letting you run and jump around Konoha collecting ramen ingredients and stuff. The important fights do get treated a lot better though, with cutscenes and special dialogues, but for the most part it's not too great. The story mode is pretty lackluster, for the most part you just select a mission and it throws you into a battle with zero context. Storm 1 is a much older game than its sequels, and it shows. ![]() ![]() I've played through them all, and they're all pretty good, but for different reasons.
